Dark Horse
Dark Horse was playing over in Huntsville. We decided to head over for an ice cream cone and some good music!

First Drive-In of 2011!
We have made it to our first drive-in movie of the season. Let the summer begin! We started off with a quick pizza dinner at Tony's...best pizza ever (this is a new phrase in our house...Best ___(day)___, ever! Taken from the movie Tangled)!
Playing in the are before the movie starts. I love this picture...Aeva doesn't quite get the concept of "bunny ears." She decided to put them on herself. Hilarious.

Summer Fun
A few of our latest activities...
The Slip n Slide has found its way out of the garage.
Garrett, my nephew, has found a new resting spot. I think he may be checking out the neighborhood for cute girls.

Harley Chic
Every once in a while my dad will show up on his Harley. Aeva decided to climb up and give the bike, and the hat a try.

An unexpected treat!
On the last day of Maddie's final soccer tournament they had two games scheduled with a 6 hour break in between. My aunt Holly came and invited us to go ride some horses in between the games. How can you say no to an invitation like that???
We even got Grandma Rett to hop on for a ride. Document, document, document...that is my philosophy. How else will future generations know about our hidden talents? Good job, grandma.
Too bad I am not an animal lover (don't get me wrong...I like animals. I just don't think I could keep up with the whole "taking care of them" part. My girls always seem to forget that these things poop!). Anyway, for a few short hours, my girls were in heaven!
Thanks Aunt Holly and the Thacker family. You made this a very special day!

Our final opera of 2011
Presenting the 3rd grade opera by Madelyn Haun.
Here we have some of the fish...they walked around singing, "You're ruining our habitat and we are tired of that." Good stuff.
The theme was to "be green." All the New Yorkers were ruining the environment by throwing garbage in the oceans. Madelyn was a New Yorker...another great costume as that meant she could wear anything we wanted! Again, no sewing involved.
