Um, that won't work.

Aeva came to tell me goodnight. I looked down and saw this. Hmmm...I think a little hygiene is in order. Too bad all that cuteness has to get washed off every once in a while.

Good thing there is more of it underneath!

Here chick, chick, chick

I found this little video clip on my camera that I took around Easter time. A bit late but pretty funny. I love to hear little girls giggle.

Sticky Creations

So, there is this stuff called tape. I grew up thinking it was Duck Tape. Then, as I got older, I realized it was probably duct tape. Now I have seen a roll of this stuff with Duck Tape actually written on it and a cute little picture of an actual duck on the label. How is a person supposed to figure out what the real name of this stuff is?

Either way, it has become an absolute phenomenon at our house. It is turning into driver's licenses, wallets, rings, bracelets. You name it and I have one of everything made out of this stuff. Apparently it comes in all colors and patterns. I have been begged multiple times to go to a store and buy some of the "cool" tape. So far, gray it is. That is all we have. Doesn't seem to be stopping them. See below...

Warning: this stuff can still be ripped and/or broken.

but then...fixed again! Amazing.

Our Madelyn Haun wallet. Selling for only $5.99 at select retailers.

We can renew any driver's license with any name you'd like...this is a bit more costly than the wallet, however.

We have rings with colored on diamonds if anyone is thinking of proposing.

Troy actually used this wallet for several days. The girls LOVED seeing him put it in his pocket and head off to work. Nevertheless, not the best option for keeping coins from falling out and running all over the grocery store floor.

So, these are limited addition items. We will only be taking orders for a short time. Please send all money to...ME. I'll take care of it from there!

Osmosis

This is General Conference at my house. We all like to believe that all that wonderful information will just sink into our brains as we "relax."

To be fair, these weren't the only 3 with their eyes closed. They are simply the only ones that I caught in the act. Sweet dreams...I mean, may we all use this wonderful counsel in our daily lives. And may we also drive home safely.

Is that grass I see?

Do you see that grass? Do you see those smiles? Spring has sprung! Bring it.

Best Game Ever!

A friend of ours introduced us to an awesome game. We refer to it as the "Skittles Game." You sit in a circle and take turns reaching into the skittles bag without looking. You pull out 2 skittles. If they are the same color you get to chew until someone else gets 2 of the same color. Once someone else gets doubles you have to stop chewing and just hold the skittles in your mouth. First person to empty their mouth wins. Some games last only a few seconds. Other games last 5 minutes or more.

Hilarious to watch!

p.s. - Warning!  Not a good game to play if you are on any kind of a diet!

Balloon Fest

We had a small balloon fest in the living room in preparation for Gracie's 7th birthday.

Good thing I have so many little helpers.

Haun Color Guard

See this man? He is the latest, Haun Color Guard leader. He can be found in the mornings with this bright orange flag and occasionally a loud cow bell. He uses these items to encourage our girls to "move faster" as they prepare for their school day. I thought this may be a valuable tool for other parents who may struggle with getting their kids out the door.

If you need any training on being a color guard in your own home, please contact Mr. G Troy Haun.
(a small fee may be incurred for his services).

The Cycle

Troy works in a tiny office with a handful of people. I think they learn quite a bit about each other. In an attempt to make everyone aware of "the cycle" and how women work, Daci made a small diagram.

From this diagram we can see that the only time the men in the office should talk to the women in the office is between the 4th-25th of each month.  Even at that, they should only approach them with truly complex problems from the 4th-22nd when they are at their happiest.  The 22-25th should be a time of rest and preparation for the upcoming week of hormones.

Hilarious!

Top Secret!

Ok all you blog readers. You are only allowed to read this IF you are good at keeping secrets. My sweet Gracie has fallen in luv. She wrote this note and showed it to me. She pinky swore me to secrecy but then ended up leaving the note sitting on the counter. Any guesses who found it? Yup, daddy. We were hoping that this moment would be some 10 years down the road but, alas, the world is moving forward at an alarming rate. Either way, this is pretty cute stuff. I am blogging it for posterity sake and not to make her sad. I just couldn't let this note get lost as I'm sure it will one day make her smile. How could anyone not luv, Gracie Rett? She is one of my all time favorites!

I love you little munchkin! Now, remember who you are and what you stand for!

One Little Monkey

Change the sheet day has come and gone. With it came a tiny little monkey. Amazing what pulling some sheets off a bed will do to a kid. How they love to jump on the bed. For some reason, I don't mind as much when there is no bedding to mess up. Have at it!

That is one cute monkey.

Spring Break!

For Spring Break we decided to head south for some much needed sun and time outdoors! Load em up, off we go!

The red cliffs of southern Utah. Gotta love em.

We stayed in Cedar City our first night so that we could head into Zion's the next day. We woke up to hurricane type winds and doubted our plan for hiking in the park. Nevertheless, we drove into the park and realized, with much relief, that the touring cliffs protected us from the wind and made for an amazing day.

The kids before we left the main parking area of the park.

This was my first time to Zions. I am told that it is rare to see waterfalls there. We saw them all over the place! Very cool to see.

We learned that Aeva needs a little conditioning. She was not our star hiker. She is a very good shoulder rider, however.

Apparently they collect small animal carcasses and give presentations as you walk along the trails. Kind of funny and yet very cool. The kids loved petting this dead rodent.

Weeping rock. The water runs down through the layers of stone until it hits a layer of clay and can't go down any farther...that is when it leaks out of the rock and down the side. Amazing stuff.

At the end of one of the trails I heard what sounded like a turkey. Sure enough, Tom turkey was on the other side of the trail. He made me very eager for Thanksgiving!

Zion's is incredible. Could have used a little more blue sky but the day was unforgettable. We live in a beautiful place.

Aeva insisted on wearing her sock pulled all the way up. Funny girl.

On our way back home we stopped at one of our favorite parks in St. George. This was the warmest day of the weekend and we enjoyed every second of it before packing into the car and heading home to colder weather and snow.

Aimee couldn't simply go up the stairs like the other adults. She is way too buff for stairs.

An awesome trip with some amazing kids. I look forward to Spring and Summer. There are picnics to be had and lakes to be swam.

Bring it!
