Mom of Girls

I saw this picture and instantly fell in love. I AM a mom of girls.

Wouldn't have it any other way!!!

Bingo at Grandma's

I'm not sure how we ended up playing BINGO at grandmas house but much to Aeva's delight, it happened. Maybe she thought grandma would have a basket like the one she won at the school.

In fact, grandma did have some prizes!  How does she know that these things are going to happen?  Psychic.

Absolute Genius

I am a grammar and spelling genius - top .9%.  How do I know?  Facebook told me so.

We always believe everything that we see on Facebook, right?

BINGO Winner!

I sent Aeva to PTO Bingo Night with a friend. I figured she would yell out a few numbers, play with her friends and come home. She indeed came home a few hours later
but she had a huge package in her hands.

A can of hot chocolate, a bag of marshmallows, a mug...she said that she gave half of the stuff away to her friends so they wouldn't feel bad.  I'm glad she did!  I wasn't sure what I would do with more stuff.  Either way, she had a blast and was well rewarded for her BINGO efforts.

6th Grade Dance - Gracie

Gracie had to miss her 6th Grade Dance this year because we were in Mesquite at a soccer tournament. She was sad to have to miss it but she enjoyed all of the practices that they had. One day I showed up early to pick them up because I had to run something into the school. I was lucky enough to find her in the gym during their dance hour. I quickly stole a few pictures. Wish I had been closer but at least I can document it for her posterity.  She is a good dancer.

Grandma Mary's Armenian Recipes

One of Troy's cousins recently posted this picture online. I had never seen it.  This is Troy's grandma, Mary.  She passed away approximately 8 years ago.  She was an amazing woman.  We still cook many of her recipes today and always think of her as we pass on the tradition.  Honored to have met her and be a part of her family.  Thanks, Grandma Mary for being such a huge part of our lives.
We love and miss you!

Young Womanhood Recognition

Maddie had a goal to receive her Young Womanhood Recognition before her 14th birthday. She only missed it by a few weeks. She worked so hard and I was proud to watch her testimony and love for the gospel grow as she completed the tasks, challenges and reading each day.

Thank you, Maddie, for you endless example and love for the Savior.  You are an example to all of those around you.  Always remember what is truly important in the eyes of the Savior.  He loves you!

PowerQuip Annual Meeting 2016

Every year Troy's work has an annual meeting to wind up the year, discuss their numbers, etc. Spouses usually get to join in on the tail end of it. We always have a good time.

We had a fantastic dinner and then ended up at a piano bar in Salt Lake.  Fun people to hang out with.

Mr. Roosevelt was even there.

The view from our hotel room the next morning.

After a phenomenal breakfast, we got to go snowmobiling up at Daniel's Summit in Heber.

The first sunken snowmobile of the day.  At least it wasn't Troy or I.

The group.

A beautiful day.

Brent and Troy.  They like to get pictures together.

We ended the day with lunch at the restaurant on site.  Look at this yummy drink!

Can't wait until next year.  So much fun!

Thank you, PowerQuip for treating us like royalty!

The Enchanted Fairytale

One day I came home from work and Aeva asked me if I would help her type up "her story". I had no idea that she had been working on a story at all.  She told me it was called, The Enchanted Fairytale.  I grabbed the laptop and off she went.  I typed and typed and typed. This story was quite elaborate and she had no problem making it up as she went.  Once the story was written, she drew a picture of each character, cut them out and then glued them on to sticks.  Over the next couple of days, we had a Broadway Play on our hands.

I Can Be...

Aeva made this poster at Activity Days.  It is a list of all the things she can be.

A mom
A teacher - Ms. Haun
A good friend
Responsible
A pianist
Kind to everyone
She can love her family

Proud of this girl.  She is already well on her way to being all of these things!

Best Mom

Everyone in the family found a note on their pillow from Maddie.

Sweet girl, the feeling is mutual.  We love you, too!

Crepe Day

Out of my 3 girls, Gracie is the one that doesn't love crepes. Don't get me wrong, she will certainly eat them, but they aren't her favorite. Maddie and Aeva decided they should have a crepe night while Gracie was in St George with her friend.
I decided that they are cute enough girls that I would oblige them.

The smiles made it well worth the effort.

Dead Troy?

After 9 PM, this is the position that you will usually find Troy and I in.

Old age has set in.  In fact, Troy might be dead.

Cookie Time!

Cookie time for the Girls Scouts.  Despite my lack of enthusiasm, Aeva was beyond excited.

They had their annual cookie rally and got all of the girls excited to get out there and sell.
Let the games begin.

Snowplow Hill

The snowplow made a pretty big drift of snow at the end of our street.  I sent the kids out to turn it into a sledding hill.  They checked that they had all of the necessary equipment...shovels, boards, tubes and a guinea pig...Aeva.

Once the hill was "ready" with a jump at the end, they sent her down.

Her response, "Ow!"

Didn't stop her from going down a few times more.  Must not have been too bad.

St. George with the Bowles

Gracie's good friend, Myken, invited her to go to St. George for a long holiday weekend.  Gracie was a little nervous about leaving home for 4 days.  Maddie was sweet and told Gracie she could take her cell phone with her so that she could call home anytime she wanted to.
Gracie decided to be brave and give it a try.

A few days into her trip she called and told me they were going to ride in the Rover.  That's something she hasn't done before.  She was excited!

Nights at the condo.

Zeppe's!  We found out a while ago that there was a Zeppe's in St. George.  Looks like they found it.

Climbing on the red rocks.

Beautiful St. George with the temple.  Might have to live there someday.  Love it.

Gracie did a great job in trying something new.  We are so proud of her and blessed that she is surrounded by amazing friends.
