Garrett's New Truck

Garrett has begged for a truck for at least a year. He kept looking at big, huge diesel trucks that were 1000 years old. His Aunt Tiff tried directing him toward a more practical option. You know, a smaller, less of a "money pit" type of truck. Well, it did the trick. He had a new truck in a matter of weeks. Wise old Aunty is a good person to have around!

We even convinced him to take us for a spin.  I think he likes it!

Double Ice Cream

We went to Chick-fil-a for dinner. As Aeva was headed to the bathroom she slipped on a wet floor by the counter. A few tears were shed but she was a trooper. By the time I could turn around from picking her up, one of the workers was handing her an ice cream cone!  Not sure they knew she had already had one! Either way it seemed to work, she was smiling again in a matter of seconds. I think Maddie and Gracie contemplated taking a fall themselves!

Our Outlaws!

Aeva is now an official Outlaw just like Maddie.  When the coveted uniforms arrived, we figures some pics were in order.  She waited a long time (at least 2 weeks) for these cool clothes to arrive.  One excited kiddo!

Gracie is now considered "out of the club" because she plays for Avalanche.

I hope they will still play with her.
Go Outlaws!

Flame Volleyball 2017 - Gracie

Gracie had a blast with her Flame Volleyball team this year.  Several medals and lots of smiles!

Flooding 2017

So, it is generally a BAD thing when you have 4 feet of snow in your yard and then the temperature hits 58 degrees in February!  We knew our pumps had been going off regularly for several days.  We were watching it carefully and crossing our fingers that the water wouldn't continue to rise.  Then...the temperature skyrocketed and the snow melted VERY quickly.

The girls came home from school and sent me these pictures of the back patio!

We had a pool!

The girls were pretty excited about having a pool until I told them to go downstairs and they saw that water was running under the doors in the kitchen.  Grab towels!

Grandpa Ken to the rescue!  I came home with several pumps and we set them up as quickly as we could.  Despite having 4 pumps running, we couldn't get the water levels to go down.

Thank heaven for awesome friends and neighbors.  The Hills had a "trash pump" that they use to irrigate with in the Summer.  They let us borrow it and FINALLY the water levels started to go down.

Aeva was sad to see the water go but I was relieved that I wouldn't be throwing away a basement full of carpet and furniture.

I am so thankful for family, friends and neighbors that are willing to show up at the drop of a hat, dig in and help.  What would we do without all of them?  SO THANKFUL!

Hopefully the rest of Spring will warm up nice and slow!

President's Cup 2017 - Maddie and Gracie

Haun's headed to Mesquite for President's Day weekend! We had 2 girls playing soccer and a lot of sunshine to find!

On the way down, our gas light came on.  The car said that the closest gas station was 13 miles away.  We knew we could make it 13 miles and kept driving.  A few minutes later, the car sputtered to a stop.  Um,....?  Are we out of gas?  What the???  It's 10:45 PM!  Troy and I pulled out our phones to see where the gas station was.  Turns out, the gas station was 13 miles BEHIND us when the car alerted us to our need for gas.  Oops.  This was what the girls thought of the whole thing...

I told them to cheer up...2/3 isn't bad.

Good thing we have "Road Side Assistance."  After some phone calls, gas was brought to our remote location and we were off again!  A good little memory for our family.  For posterity sake, I'd like it noted that TROY was driving when we ran out of gas and not ME.  I have NEVER run out of gas.

We went to a local Mexican restaurant for lunch.  Very tasty!

Walked around the temple.

Played at the park.

Played our hearts out!

And went back to the park again with some of the girls on Gracie's soccer team.

Such a fun weekend with so many amazing people.  Love where we live and who we live with!
