The Long Awaited Day

You may remember this face from a few posts back?  This is Bryan..we all love Bryan.

We couldn't wait for the day when this would happen.

Because we also LOVE doing stuff like this.

The girls got to help decorate the Peterson Banner for the reception.

And buy new dresses.

Poor little Aeva wasn't allowed to put her dress on until right before the wedding.  She was the flower girl and her dress was long and white...just like the brides.  She could hardly wait.

Darby getting ready.

Finally, all in their dresses.

Basket in hand.

The wedding.

And the 100 other pictures that come after.

Then it was off to the luncheon.  This is Gracie's 3rd grade teachers, daughter.  They found out that they were both going to be in Darby's wedding.  Gracie was beyond excited.

This is the cute guy that I married almost 14 years ago.  Handsome little devil.

The Reception.

Maddie and Gracie were in charge of sitting at the book.

Aeva was in charge of playing with her cousins.

Grandpa and the brothers were in charge of sitting on the chairs.

The famous garter belt retrieval.  Who thought of this little tradition?  A man...I'm sure.

Tossing the bouquet.

The fight.

The winner...and supposed next bride.

Their first dance.

Their cake.

How we move the flower girls from place to place.

The get away car.

Dancing.

And the sparkler finale.

Here's to a happy couple and a long life together!  Enjoy!

Something New and...Fishy

My worst decision of the day...every day is deciding what to make for dinner (tells you that my life isn't all that bad). So, I am always looking for some new recipes to try.

Gracie came home from a friends house one night and told us that she had had fish tacos and LOVED them.  What?  Gracie doesn't like too much variety in her diet so I thought I had better figure out what these fish tacos were made of.

A few texts later, I had the recipe.  Here is my first attempt at fish tacos.

They look yummy, right?  Gracie liked them and Troy and I voted them "ok".  With a little fine tuning, we may have a new meal on the menu.

Aeva's First School Lunch

Every night we look at the lunch menu for the next day and decide if we will be taking a home lunch or eating at school. 99.9% of the time, Aeva, decides she had better take something from home. Occasionally they will cook breakfast food for school lunch. When she heard they were having french toast sticks, she decided she had better try it out.

I was required (primarily by myself) to be there to document this momentous occasion.  After all, this is my last first grader...ever!

The lunch is prepaid - something this little girls does not understand.  I hope she doesn't get the idea that she can just grab food wherever she wants, smile at the lady and then walk away without paying.  This could turn into a life of thievery.

She certainly got her moneys worth.  Ironically, she ate everything BUT the french toast sticks.  After all, there was no syrup.  How can you eat french toast without syrup?  Seems like the other 500 kids found a way.  Enjoy your lunch, Ms. Aeva.
