New Years 2012

We had an amazing New Year. We were lucky enough to have some friends come over and welcome in the New Year with us.

Aeva decided to help Troy get ready for the festivities by dusting.  We HATE dusting at the Haun house.  Well, then again, maybe Aeva likes it.  Mom, at least, is not a fan.

The kids decided to serve the adults dinner.  They prepared the table.

And did all of the decorating for the "Las Chicas" restaurant.  They originally spelled it "Las Cheekas."  I was sad when they figured out the real spelling.

The waitresses getting all prepared.

Some pre-food stretches.

The tears and horror when they found out that Grandma Rett may not be joining us for dinner.

After dinner the adults decided to pass some time by cleaning the fireplace...Troy is to blame for this activity.  Now you know why we have no friends.

Finally, the fun could begin.  Hats and noise makers at the ready.

Even the little ones made it to midnight.  That means tomorrow may be ugly.  :)

Happy New Year!

It was FREEZING outside but that didn't stop the kiddos.  Out they went with fireworks.

We had a blast and hope this year is as good as all the rest.  We live in an amazing place and are surrounding by family and friends.  Who could ask for more?

A Special Christmas Guest

Maddie's 5th grade class pet got to come home with her for the Christmas Break. We had had him over the weekend a month or so ago and were excited to have him back.

Sammy.

Troy came home from work and Sammy immediately decided they were friends.  He like to rub his head on Troy's goatee.

Then Troy fell asleep and Sammy made a "deposit" on his shirt.

Troy is no longer Sammy's friend.  Poor sammy, he doesn't even know there is a problem.  He thinks it is normal to poop on his friends.

He likes to eat Macaroni and Cheese for lunch.

This is the protective gear that the girls have been wearing at all times.  Sammy's fingernails and beak are pretty sharp.  An extra layer of clothing is a good idea.

Funny to watch them walk around the house all bundled up.

When I do the dishes, Sammy likes to come over and play in the water.

Funny bird.  Hope he has enjoyed his stay.  Now it is back to the 5th grade for him and Maddie.

My new hobby

I got a new game on my phone. Slightly addicting.  Plus, I am pretty good at it...

My high score...497.

It's too bad that the laundry isn't getting done anymore.  When I run out of clothes, I will put this down.

Christmas 2012

Another amazing Christmas has come and gone. I love the time with family and the traditions we get to keep.

The season always begins with a list for Santa.  He can refer to said lists when he needs any ideas of what the girls might want.

My three little elves LOVE to decorate the tree and house.  Troy and I LOVE watching them do it as we sit on the couch doing absolutely nothing.

Aeva was sad that the other girls had made decorations with their pictures on it at school.  We decided to make her one of her own to hang on the tree.  I think she liked it.

The annual advent calendars were brought out.  Let the chocolate counting begin!

Grandma Pearl's annual Christmas party.

Aeva loved these little sticky guys that would fall down the wall.

Maddie got this amazing book which I'm sure she is dying to read.

Baby Jonah's first Christmas.

Visits from Santa.

The making of gingerbread villages.

Baking the Armenian cheese Boregs and Paklava with Gma Carole.

Delivering gifts to friends.

And Christmas morning!!!

The day was so beautiful that they even got to do a bit of sledding behind the four wheeler.

An amazing Christmas and a wonderful time to remember how blessed we are.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!!!
