Pictionary

I introduced my girls to the game of Pictionary. I loved this game when I was younger...still do. Here is one of the drawings by Gracie. Made me laugh to tears.

Any guesses what it is?

A mosquito bite.  The mosquito bites the guy who says Ow.  Then his arm swells and swells again until it is the size of a baseball.

Unfortunately, this picture didn't get the point but it made my night.

Rain or Shine

We decided to buy a "4 game package" to the Real soccer games this year. I wonder how many games we will go to in the rain.

Guess it doesn't matter.

We will be there either way!
Go REAL!!!

Special Needs Mutual - Chosen

We were lucky enough to get invited to the Special Needs Mutual annual play "Chosen". The play demonstrated how each of us was chosen for a special mission here on Earth.  It highlighted such people as Joseph, Noah, the pioneers, etc.  Our good friend, Nate, starred in the play and even let us take our picture with him after.

We look forward to this play every year.
Thanks, Nate, for thinking of us.  You were amazing!

Easter 2014

Easter!

Even the cat is excited about the nice weather!

Egg painting.

We went with a little tie-dye this year.

We also participated in the first annual Peep Diorama contest.  You had to pick your favorite scene out of a movie and recreate it using Peeps.  Any guesses what movie this is from?

Drum roll, please...Field of Dreams.  One of Troy's favorite movies.  This is the scene where the girl chokes on a hot dog and falls from the bleachers.  The baseball player has to decide whether or not he is going to "cross the line" never to return.  Troy and Maddie had a blast making it.
I had a blast not making it :).

Then we had the annual Easter egg hunt.  This is where all the grandchildren fight over money eggs.  One of their favorite things.

We tie the big kids together to slow them down.  Works nicely.

We had a great Easter and loved being with our family and friends.  Hopefully, we all remember the real reason why we celebrate Easter.  We are blessed beyond measure.

Roasted Peeps

Ever wonder what to do with all of those marshmallow Peeps?

Turn them into S'mores!

Pay up, Dad!

The girls went a whole year without drinking pop. Why? Because their father bribed them. It worked. The year has passed and they now consider themselves rich and are wondering how to spend their dinero.

Here they are about to open their first pop (sparkling grape cider) in 365 days.
Guess what, they don't really miss it...that's the part that I like.
Pop=sodium & gas.  I'm not a fan.

Birthday at the Spa

Gracie went to a fun party. They had a night at the spa.  The final results.

Every try to identify your child by there hands and feet?  I could actually do it.  Made myself proud.  Gracie is up top with the yellow toenails.

Here she has the pink nails.  The soccer ball is a dead give-a-way.  This girl LOVES soccer.
Wonder where she got it from :).

2nd Place

Gracie's Monarch team took 2nd place in Indoor.  They had a lot of fun and played well.

Here is there final team pic.

Someone was feeling left out of the action.

Nature Center Field Trip

Aeva's first grade field trip to the Nature Center has come and gone.

Aeva's first find was a potato bug.  One of the few bugs she will actually touch.

This is the first year they gave each kid a pair of binoculars and let them take them home to keep!  Aeva was soooo excited.  Maddie and Gracie were a bit jealous.  They had to give theirs back when they went to the Nature Center.

Class picture.  I could never teach school - look at all of those crazy kids.  Nope, not for me.  Mrs. Coy is and angel.

The class in a life size nest.

A great day with some fun moms and kids.  This will be my last time going on a field trip here ...
third times a charm.

7th Grade Elections

Elections have come and gone.  Maddie decided to give it a shot.

Here is her cute poster.  You look in the mirror and see yourself with googly eyes and crazy hair.  The kids had a lot of fun with it.

At the end of the day, Maddie won't be one of the 7th grade officers.  Guess what, that's ok.  She is amazing at everything she does.  She is a happy, kind and loving person...and that makes her the best!  I'm proud to be her mom.

Hygiene Reminders

Might need to buy Gracie a shower alarm.

The Power Ice Cream

My Aeva loves her ice cream.

Conference Weekend

Can you see conference happening in the background?  Something makes me think that this little girls wasn't listening to one word of it.

Spring Break 2014

We had a fantastic Spring Break down in Mesquite.  We stayed with my grandma and enjoyed all of the fantastic sunshine!  Before we left, we stopped by Troys work to tell him goodbye...he had to stay home and work :(.

Gracie left him this note to remind him not to forget to feed her pet hamster, Giselle (apparently she can also be referred to as Gusel).

We stopped at the Red Barn on our way down for some treats...one of my favorites, caramel apples.  Soooo good AND still considered a fruit :).

After we arrived, the Ripsticks were out of the trunk and the kids were headed to the park.
Hello palm trees...we have missed you!

After playing at the park, we spent our afternoon at the COLD pool.  Apparently there is no heater in Nevada pools.  This one needed it.  They spent most of the time riding scooters AROUND the pool rather than swimming IN the pool.  They didn't seem to care either way.

Somehow we ended up here for dinner.  I haven't eaten here for 30 years.  Now I remember why.  They still haven't found an employee of the month.  Baaaad deal.

Day 2 - found ourselves hiking the Crack in St. George.  Kids love it.

We even got the grandmas to join us for our little hiking activity.

We love to play with the Williams.  A friend for everyone.

That night was seafood night at the buffett.  We took the older kids for some crab.  The Williams took the little kids for Mexican...worked out nicely for me.

Post crab buffet fatness.

On our way home, we stopped and hiked in Leeds, UT.  One of our favorite hikes that we discovered last November.

We decided Gma Rett should give it a go.  Here she is conquering the rope.

I've decided this should be her profile picture on everything she has.

We should have worn our suits.  Several people swimming in the deeper pools.  I will remember for next time.

We all made it out alive and happy.  An awesome mini vacation with my favorite people.  Keep the sunshine coming!
