Dumb, Dumb-du-dumb

Introducing, The Hauns...er...I mean, The Carvers! Not the best picture but it will show you an adorable picture of an amazing new family! Danny and Kati are married!

Hurray!

We were lucky enough to corner Danny before the wedding. I think my girls are in love with their new uncle.

Princess Aeva making her way up the stairs.

Getting ready for the ceremony.

The luncheon. Yummy! We love Maddox!

Danny sang to Kati at the end of the luncheon. So sweet. I don't remember Troy singing to me???

3 of the cutest flower girls I have ever seen!

Kati's class made this cake for her. Couldn't pass up the picture. It was one of my favorite things of the whole day.

We love our Kati.

Welcome to the family, Danny! We are so happy to have another little addition!

Maddie even got sang to as her birthday was the next day. She is getting bigger by the day.

What an amazing day. One we will all remember and cherish for a very long time.

Little Faker

Last night as the children were running around with little to no supervision, there was a collision. Aeva and one of the older kids collided and there was instant concern as Aeva sat crying and holding her left wrist. I began to think there may be a small fracture when the crying continued throughout the night and she wouldn't let me rotate her wrist. I wrapped her arm and figured we would check it out in the morning. I took the ace wrap off about 20 minutes before we got her x-rays. As soon as the ace wrap was removed, she began to use her arm. She could move it, push on it, climb with it, open doors in a single bound. What? It was a miraculous recovery. Had I not already been on my way to get the films taken, I would have skipped the whole thing. I am happy to report that her arm still continues to work and she has no detrimental effects from her fake fracture. Good thing she is so cute or we would have had to have a very serious discussion about "crying wolf."

New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve has come again. This is one of the few days each year when I usually succumb to my children and break out the chocolate fountain. Heck, if you are keeping them up until midnight, you may as well stuff them full of sugar while you are at it.

Cheers to a new year that is sure to bring a lot of smiles, laughs, and memories.

We're in Trouble

My little Aeva has now graduated from nursery. We have the best nursery I have ever seen. Those called to work there actually asked to be there and have a wonderful time with the kids. Aeva has no clue that next Sunday she will no longer be in with the toys, snacks, slippery slides, and games. I think I will have a very sad little girl when she realizes what has happened. She is growing up. If anyone finds a way to keep them small for a little bit longer...let me know.

Balls, Racks, and Coins

We took the fam to Fat Cats over Christmas Break to use some gift certificates the girls had received. They love to go bowling and are not convinced that bowling on the Wii is the same thing. I do like to watch them try and pick up a too heavy ball, walk/run/trip/or jog toward that death defying black line that if you accidentally cross will send you flying onto your dairy-airy. A true highlight for me. Here are some pics I managed to get while watching.

Here we have, Aeva. She is quite upset because her second ball failed to hit even one pin. So sad.

Here we have Aeva after her first and second balls both hit pins. A true roller coaster of emotions.

I think Danny should have his thyroid checked. His one eye seems to be protruding from its socket. Maybe that means that just the left side of his thyroid is hyperactive. I think Troy agrees with my assessment. He looks slightly concerned.

Aeva couldn't care less about all the games. She is too busy riding on this itty bitty merry-go-round over and over again. Easy to please.

Yeah, for Fat Cats! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for giving the girls such an awesome gift!

Man in Tights

Yeah for Troy...he had knee surgery on Dec 21st. We like to call it his "insurance surgery" because had it not been the end of the year (and, hence, our deductible paid) it most likely wouldn't have happened. We are glad he did it. His knee would have never worked right until it was fixed. What better time than over Christmas???

I had to take a few pics so that he would always remember how great he looks in panty hose. He is such an obedient little soul. He does everything the surgeon tell him...to a "T."

Ted hose - check
Brace - check
Exercises 3-4 times day - check

I, on the other hand, am a horrible patient. I do pretty much the opposite of whatever I am told. Good thing opposites attract or we would never make it!

Really?

For the last month or so we have been helping Maddie with her homework. This is what we have been working on...(sorry about it being sideways...I am not smart enough to get it flipped the right way).

Acute and obtuse I can handle but scalene? I would like any adult (without cheating) to write back and tell me the definition of a scalene triangle. What is this? Oh, it is 3RD GRADE! What in the #$%^&? I think I attempted this in junior high. What is the world coming to? I will be depressed when I have to find a tutor to help my 9 year old do her homework. I considered myself an intelligent individual until one month ago. Whatever shall we do? Good think I have Troy and the internet...

School Lunch

My girls love it when Aeva and I show up for school lunch. We hadn't done it yet this year and decided it was time. Aeva and I packed our lunches and headed for the school. Now, if you can see, Gracie is on the other side of the table in the background. This boy, who I don't even know, took quite a liking to little Aeva and sat right next to us. He was very interested in why we were there and what we might be eating that was different from what he was eating. Funny. Gracie was surrounded by her friends and I think quite entertained by the whole thing.

About 20 min after Gracie starts eating, Maddie shows up. Aeva and I surprised her and finished our lunch at her table. This may give you some indication of how long it takes Aeva to eat a sandwich.

Aeva is either being a goof or showing me that she has finished her lunch. She enjoys school lunch immensely and will be excited to return very soon!

Thanksgiving 2010

Every year that I have a first grader I get to start out my Thanksgiving with an adorable program. This year, it was Gracie that invited me to come. How could I miss it? My little pilgrim was adorable!

Gracie has loved first grade and her teacher. Any guesses about what she wants to be when she grows up? She will be great at anything she chooses to do. Gracie is a natural leader and always aware of how other might be feeling. I am thankful for that.

At grandpas house we also had some preparations for Turkey day. Celery had to be stuffed,

Rolls rolled out,

and naps to be had...I couldn't take a picture of myself, I mean Troy, sleeping. Thanksgiving is a wonderful day!

So much to be thankful for.
