Target Practice

The guns made it out of the closet and the shooting began.
Garrett is a sharp shooter and tried to provide some pointers to the girls.

After a few minutes, the targets were being hit.  Good thing we will have some hunters if we ever need to find our own food!

Homemade Happiness

We were given some homemade cinnamon rolls to take home.
The following morning my girls were eating them for breakfast...heaven.

They now know what homemade cinnamon rolls taste like...I'm in trouble.

Waffle Luv Love

Aeva spent the afternoon with the Williams while the rest of the family watched soccer games. Half way through the second game, we received this photo.

Yep, Aeva devouring a Waffle Luv waffle.  Who taught this girl how to eat???

Zac's 41st Birthday!

Zac's birthday! We were invited over for some yummy, "Fiesta Platter"!

Scrumptious!  Thanks for being born, Zac!

Reality Town - Gracie

Gracie's turn for Reality Town. Time to budget, buy and decide what you can afford. Gracie's "life" was pulled at random and based on her current GPA.  This is what her "reality" looked like:
Marital Status:  Married
Kids:  2
Employment:  Pediatrician.
Made for an awesome income.
Such a fun activity for these 7th graders.

My turn to drive?

Maddie has her learners permit and Gracie is turning 13 so she thinks that she should practice driving too.  I broke down and let her drive down the road from our mailbox.  I think she likes it.

Holey Cleats

Aeva has been telling me for several weeks that her cleats were worn out and her socks were getting wet from the grass. I told her they were fine and that everyone's feet got wet in the grass. The next time she had practice she but them on and started to point out various "flaws" in the shoes.

Oh, I see.  Your finger comes through the shoe?  All of the leather is falling off?  Ok, maybe it's time for a new pair.

That's better!

Play hard, Ms. Aeva!

"You are Special" - Aeva

Aeva's incredible Activity Days leaders had a final end of year part for all of the girls and their moms.   They had a "You are Special" theme and everyone was supposed to wear polk-a-dots!
Aeva was beyond excited!

Maureen and Kara have done such an amazing job with these cute girls.  So blessed to have them!

They did a mother and daughter activity to see how well we knew each other.  I missed the first question.  Aeva definitely likes M&Ms more than skittles.  Other than that, I think I did pretty good.

Ms. Aeva missed a few questions when it came to "knowing her mom".  For example, she thinks I'm 6 feet tall, she thinks I like cartoons over documentaries, pizza more than salad and M&Ms more than skittles.  Maybe she was answering about herself?  Funny girl.

Loved my afternoon with this sweet girl.  So glad I can be a part of her life and watch as she grows, explores and learns.  Being a mom is the experience of a lifetime and I wouldn't miss it for the world!

Peep Dioramas 2017 - Disney!

The Peep Dioramas are once again being created. This years theme, "Disney".

Peeps have been purchased.  Let the games begin!

Maddie decided to recreate a scene from the movie, "Up".

She finished past the deadline of midnight...good thing the organizers live in California and set their clocks one hour behind ours!  She was stressing out and I finally had to tell her about the time difference.  I didn't want her to know she had and extra hour because I was ready for bed!

Next we have Gracie's interpretation of the flying carpet seen in the movie, "Aladdin".

And as our last piece, a beautiful creation by Ms. Aeva - "Beauty and the Beast".

Maddie ended up taking 3rd place in the "Over 12 division". and Aeva took 2nd in the "Under 12 division".   Thanks to the Stapley family for making this a much loved tradition!
May the Peep Dioramas live on forever!
