Founder's Day in Pleasant View has come and gone. I LOVE Founder's Day because it takes me back to my old neighborhood where I grew up. There's always something special about the place where you spend your childhood. Founder's Day includes breakfast in the park, a parade, time with family, a salmon bake for dinner, smashed cupcakes (my personal favorite), music bands and some amazing fireworks to top it all off. We had to miss the parade this year but we managed to catch the rest of it.
These are the Daughter's Day gifts that my girls get every year. This tradition started several years ago when we were watching the Founder's Day parade and one of my girls asked why there wasn't a Daughter's Day if there was a Mother's Day and a Father's Day. Grandma Carole agreed that it didn't seem very fair. So....Daughter's Day was born that very afternoon when gifts appeared out of nowhere. Thanks, Grandma Carole...you single handedly created one of their favorite holidays.
Troy decided to try on Maddie's jacket at the fireworks. It may turn into a regular outfit. He likes how his muscles bulge through the fabric.
Less bulging in his normal jacket.
Girls playing with glo sticks while they listen to the band and wait for the fireworks to begin.
Cousins are great.
Garrett fell asleep during the fireworks. What's up with that? I think he has become an official teenager.
They caught a tree on fire at the high school. It ended up being the highlight of the whole night.
Happy Founder's Day, everyone!
