Our family trip this year was Rafting the Salmon! Not everyone could make it and we missed them. However, I DO NOT miss this drive. Pretty for an hour or two but after that...how about a tree?
A bush? A rabbit? Anything?
We arrived to see dad relaxing. This NEVER happens.
Our first bus ride to the drop off point.
We were teasing Garrett about his new found low voice. The boys decided to entertain us with a duet to show of their manly voices.
Waiting for the cars to circle back.
Aeva trying out the Captain Chair.
Loaded up and ready to go!
Boys in the kayaks.
Not a bad day for a dip in the river! You hold on to grandpas leg whenever you need a lift.
Getting cocky with their kayaking skills.
This is what you look like after falling in the cold water. Parker is still on Ecuador temperatures. He doesn't adjust well to the cold quite yet.
After a day or two of rafting, you look like this.
Group pic.
The blue kayak was the least favorite. No back support whatsoever. You pretty much had to do a 3 hour sit up. Good for the abs.
Cam and I with our kayak paddle skills.
Grandpa Ken decided to take it for a spin.
Lunch time!
After a day of rafting, you sit around the table and you eat!
I'm on bacon duty. I'm in charge of determining when they are done (by sampling of course). Slightly crispy, please.
Brothers...can you tell?
Dad after his kayak flipped. This is what happens when you don't fasten your lifejacket. It comes up over your head!
We managed to get him back on board.
An amazing waterfall.
The "hippo" rock in the middle of the river.
Not sure what we did to deserve this look but we shan't do it again!
Day 2...a little Star Wars on the laptop.
Our rafting outfit.
On our way home we decided to drive through McCall, Idaho. Stopped at the lake for a bit of a break.
The girls had to get out to this rock and did their best to stay dry. Gracie managed to do it fairly easily.
Aeva was another story. Let's just say that this little pull up the shorts idea didn't help much. She ended up getting completely soaked.
Didn't seem to matter. The fun was there to be had. Whose scared of a little water?
A thousand falls near Twin Falls, ID.
We saw a sign for Shoshone Falls and drove right past. Then Troy and I looked at each other and flipped a U turn. So glad we did!
Who ever new this existed in Idaho? What?!?
Before we left, we had to accidentally throw our ball into the thorn bushes. We tried sending Aeva over but it was too "poky". So, guess who was next on the list?
What are dads for?
An amazing trip and one we will remember for years to come!
Thanks to dad and Lenard for making it happen!
