Girls Camp 2016! We had a Stake Camp this year. Decided to get all of the camp certification done before camp so we could just play while we were there. Is that smart or sneaky?
Starting a fire with flint and steel.
S'more prep. We had to learn to cook "2 ways". Marshmallows on a stick certainly counts as one!
Finally the morning of camp arrived. We headed up past Morgan and ran into this...
Huh?!? Who runs their livestock down the freeway? I guess we do. Weird.
My car load of cute girls.
The major bonus to this "resort" camp was no cooking by any of us. Yep, just show up 3 times a day and they will feed you. If you look closely, you will also notice that there happened to be an ice cream machine. Chocolate, vanilla or twist? Why, one of each thanks!
My amazing friends that make everything a blast. The people you surround yourself with makes all the difference in the world. Look for happy and uplifting people! They make life awesome.
There also happened to be horses on the ranch.
Not the cowboy attire I was hoping for (helmet and protective life jacket. Yep, an actual life jacket that you might wear in...let say, water!) but I wasn't given a vote.
There was also a lake, 3 swimming pools, a hot tub and 2 saunas. That was a first for me and I have been to a lot of girls camps!
Water balloon volleyball.
Have to have crafts.
A sunburned nose that actually blistered! We decided a band-aid would be a good protective option. It also helps keep the camp director boys away...a double bonus.
Games in the lodge while it rained and rained and rained outside.
I spent most of this day hauling wet sleeping bags from the tents to the dryers. You know, the dryers that I happened to find when I was randomly walking around and opening unauthorized doors. We don't want the girls to freeze in soggy bags, right?
Yoga Spa Hour! So glad I was taking the picture for this one.
Team work games.
1, 2, 3...sit! Our ward was the biggest one there and we were awesome at this! We even started walking while sitting on each other. A true and rare talent.
Service project.
They made encouraging notes for women struggling with addiction. They then put the notes in these cute jars for special delivery.
Archery!
Small rodents that were not shy in the least.
Testimony meeting.
There was no reception at camp so phones were off for 3 days. When I got back into range, my phone started going crazy with pictures. This is the first one I received.
So Aeva is home alone with Troy and Troy is asleep. That means Aeva must be awake and wandering around with complete and total freedom. If Aeva wasn't a good girl, this would worry me.
Next photo, dinner at Eats of Eden.
Sleepover in the tent with daddy.
Another picture came rushing through. A burned arm from the pancake griddle. No one was sure what to do about this one. Troy had to call for back up to find out what to apply to griddle burn. Good thing we have 3 ER physician in our ward. He was well guided in my absence.
Back to happy. A field trip to Ogden.
Lunch date with Nate.
All of this came through on our ride back home. 2/4 girls stayed away for the first half of the drive.
Oh, and me. I stayed awake too!
This one...not so lucky. LOVE this picture.
Lunch at the park before the final stretch of driving. Our girls decided they were stunt cheerleaders. Maddie's job was to hold everyone up. Strong soccer girls pay off once again.
A sun tan? Not sure on this one.
A leader sitting on top always makes it better.
Wendee sent me some extra pics after we got home. I was riding the horses during the lake outing. too bad I missed it. So fun!
Our final pic before camp was over. Love going to camp and love not being the one in charge!!!
Nice work, Eden 1st! You make me proud!
Our first night back Maddie and Aeva slept out in the tent again. Nothing better than Summer!
