The Erickson Family Reunion has come and gone. This year the theme was "Minute to Win It."
Tons of fun and games for the young... and ancient :).
They have this "train" that they pull around with a 4 wheeler. The kids love riding in it.
Special addition this year...the bouncy house. Too bad it was 900 degrees. Made it a little warmish to play in.
Game #1 - put a nylon on your head and knock over all your water bottles before your opponent. Maddie was a pro. Point for us!
This is the edited version of the game for those that don't want to mess up any of their perfect hair do's.
And this is how you play if you want to cheat. Go Grandma!
Then, out of nowhere, a snow cone machine materialized. Again...lots of happy children.
I somehow missed getting a picture of the cotton candy machine. Needless to say,
we were all diabetics by the time we left.
Then for Game #2 - Cup Stacking. You had to be the first one to get the blue/red cup to the top. Another point for us.
Grandma Rett would go backwards if she got too far ahead of her opponent. So kind and yet...no point for us. We need to work on Grandmas mean and aggressive side.
Game #3 - Dice Stacking.
Game #4 - Stringing Pasta on Pasta. Adolescents that do a lot of kissing have an advantage on this one.
Maddie must be naturally talented. I KNOW she hasn't been doing any kissing.
For the finale,
The POTATO LAUNCHER!!! Complete frenzy and killing of family members to catch one of these babies. Kids have caught on...there's money in them taters.
In fact, Maddie found a $20 bill in hers.
Gracie, had to top her...her potato had $40!!! That was the grand prize potato! There are some definite benefits to having an uncle that's a doctor. He just doesn't know what to do with all of his cash. We are happy to spend it for him.
We ended the day with a little swim in the pool.
Thanks, Erickson's! We had a blast!
