Troy and I booked a trip for UEA this Fall. We are going with a couple of families and decided we should find a fun way to tell the kids where we are headed. My girls are currently liking the Amazing Race so...what better way to tell them?
We gathered the kiddos so the games could begin.
The older group was assigned to drive to several addresses (no Google Maps allowed) and find 2 more envelopes. Their final challenge told them they had to find 10 random people and have them text the word "vacation" to my cell phone number. I knew when I got 10 texts that they would be on their way home.
It ended up being a funny deal. They went to Lee's Market to try and find people to send texts. They split up to make it go faster. Maddie ended up getting 7/10 texts because people tended to not trust the boys. They thought they were "up to something". Maddie must have an honest face. The boys were amazed that no one would trust them.
Group 2 had to complete 9 questions about the mysterious ___
When they finished that, they too had to go and find 10 random people that would text the word "vacation" to Troy's cell #.
Group 3 had several "stay at home" challenges. Cross word puzzles, word finds and a scavenger hunt outside.
Each group collected a puzzle piece as they completed each task. When they got back, they put the pieces together.
The final message read...
Can't wait for Oct 13! Bring on the Caribbean!
