Every once in a while, Troy, gets tickets to a Utah Jazz game through his work.
While we were there, we ran into my mom, my aunt and my grandma. We had no idea they would be there and ended up sitting on opposite sides of the arena.
Grandma Hazel is a huge Jazz fan. I'd pay good money if someone could make this picture not be blurry.
So anyway, Troy and I are watching the game and next to us there is a dad with what appears to be his 5 year old daughter watching the game. They happen to have purchased two of my favorite snack items. Popcorn....and Swedish Fish.
At half time, the dad and daughter didn't return. What could have happened to them? Would they have gone home having not eaten any of their precious snacks? How could they leave all of that yummy, snacky, scrumptious food? It was an abomination. Or perhaps, a blessing.
I decided that with all of the starving people in the world, I should not let this go to waste. I started with just a small sampling to assure that it wasn't contaminated (and that if they returned, they wouldn't know I had sampled any of their yummy food). With each passing minute, I was more convinced that they wouldn't be returning.
By the end of the third quarter, I had moved in on the fish.
Troy was much more noble. He refused to share in the bounty. He called it "filthy lucre." What? I prefer to call it "free lucre."
I sent pictures of the food to my mother so she could tell me that eating it was the right thing to do. She confirmed that I had done the right thing. And then...
a ball fell from the heavens into my lap. Almost like a confirmation from the heavens that I had done the right thing. It might even be called, a blessing.
And then, it was all gone.
What a wonderful, wonderful evening. Unfortunately, I was only able to watch some of the game as I was quite busy with all of my blessings. Oh well, Go Jazz!
