A note

Grandpa Ken watched Aeva on Tuesdays while he was waiting for some snow to fall. She has been very in to writing letters. May have something to do with all of the Christmas cards we have been working on. I came home and found this.

Grandpa explained that they had been busy writing notes to each other.  I wanted to keep this note for memories sake.  I hope Grandpa likes Aeva as much as she likes him.

Christmas Sing-a-long

Every year the elementary school has a Christmas sing-a-long. Each grade prepares a song and then they gather in the gym and sing. I try and go so I can hear their songs and take lots of embarrassing mom photos.

This is what I saw on my way over.  Crazy people...freezing cold.

Aeva with her Kindergarten class.  They sang, "Santa Clause is Coming to Town."

Gracie's 3rd grade class sang, "Polar Express" and got to wear their PJs to school.

The 5th grade sang, "Where are you Christmas" and dressed up like Who's from Whoville.

A fun last day of school before Christmas Break.

The Christmas Santa got Sick

Everyone in Maddie's 5th grade class wrote a Christmas Story. The teachers then selected three of the stories to turn into plays. Maddie's story was chosen and we are pretty proud of her!

The story (if you have amazing eyesight, you might be able to read it).

The cast.

The writer and producer with her dad.

Proud grandparents.

Good job, Maddie!  We think you are amazing.

Shrinky Dinks

Ok...apparently there are some really cool things in this world that I know nothing about. What's up with that? Am I the only one that hasn't heard of Shrinky Dinks?  Apparently they have been around since I was little and I had never seen them before.  I saw them on some random website and had to go and find some.  SO much fun.

Basically, you decorate this plastic paper and then you bake it and it shrinks into charms, earrings, necklaces...whatever!  Amazing.  We ended up making bracelets for the girls' teachers at school and each of the grandmas.  Cousins even came over to help (or maybe their aunt made them...that's me...the favorite aunt).

Ever seen so many kids look into an oven?

Good stuff.  Not sure why I didn't get a picture of the finished product.  My bad.

An email from Santa

Each of the girls got an email from Santa. Aeva was the first one to get hers. She watched it over, and over, and over...

Santa has a book for each child.  He shows them their book and then reads it to them.

He tells them if they have been naughty or nice and talks to them about their school and what gifts they might be getting for Christmas.

Aeva was in heaven.  She is a big fan.
