Bahamas - A day at sea - Day 6

The "day at sea" is always the hardest. Not much to do and nowhere to go.  Troy and I found ourselves wandering around the ship to see what we could find.

As usual, there was food everywhere.

An ice cream swan.

We watched as they carved a chief indian head out of ice.

And ended our day with our final towel animal sporting Troy's sunglasses.

Bahamas - Half Moon Cay - Day 5

Our final stop of the cruise was Carnival's private island, Half Moon Cay.  We walked around the island and stopped at one of the excursions...swimming with sting rays.

Troy checking out the fish.  Look at that water...SO amazing.

The instructor holding up a star fish.

Petting the sting ray.

Sail boats on the beach.

Troy found a resting spot.

The beach did not disappoint...other than the number of other people just like me wanting to sit on it. Guess I am more of a private beach to myself kind of person.  Hard to see any fish with 400 people swimming around.

Our ship awaiting our return.  An awesome final day.

Bahamas - Nassau - Day 4

Our next stop was the island of Nassau.

Our ship as we headed toward the city.

The city center in Nassau.

Some really cool buildings and architecture.

Because I work in the health care field, I had to take a picture of this.

There are numerous forts on the island.  This is one of the canons at Fort Fincastle.  Apparently the canons were never fired.

The water tower.

Looking out at our ship from the fort.

I think this was a holding cell for ammunition.  I thought it looked more like a jail cell.

The Queens stairs...built by slaves over a period of 18 years.  When they finished the job, they killed them.  Nice.

Looking back at Nassau as we leave the port.

The Atlantis casino.  I had no idea what it was but Troy new as soon as he saw it.  Apparently it is in a lot of movies.  I am clueless.

One of our many towel animals on the cruise.  Such talent.

Bahamas - Freeport - Day 3

After exploring Florida, we found ourselves on a cruise ship to the Bahamas. Very convenient that the cruise ships leave from Florida :).

Our very own water slide.

First stop was the island of Freeport (Troy is in charge of flipping all of these pictures.  Too technically advanced for me).

Our first white sand beach.  Warm water and blue skies makes for happy people.

And bare feet.

For lunch we headed out for some fish.  We found this little boy fishing off the pier with some fishing line, fish and his hands.  No pole required.

We had Conche for lunch.  I compared it to breaded rubber bands.  Troy and Zac thought it was tasty.  Obviously, their taste buds have not fully developed.

The Radisson resort next to the ocean.  Very cool.

Troy and I pretending to stay at the Radisson.

Leaving port.  Off to our next stop!

Disneyworld's Animal Kindgom - Day 2

For day 2 of our trip, we were still in Florida so we were forced to check out Disneyworld. We only had one day to be there so we had to pick which park we wanted to go to. Most people that we had talked to recommended the Animal Kingdom. Troy and I thought our kids might one day enjoy such an adventure and so we took it upon ourselves to have a looksy.

Riding in on the upside down tram.

Standing in front of the upside down sign at the entrance to the park.

Mt. Everest...never thought I would make it China while in Florida.  Very cool.

On the safari ride we saw a tiger.

Hippos.

Termite mounds.

Giraffs.

Elephants.

Hard to tell but this was a lion.

A white rhino.  Apparently these are almost extinct in the wild.

I swam with some fish...in my clothes.

A gorilla.

Following the safari, I saw Rafiki's buttocks.  The line to get a picture with the front of him was too long so I figured this was just as good.

About this time, Zac, decided he didn't smell so good.  Troy moved in to verify.  He was right.

We saw the Nemo play.  Very cool as well.

A replica of Sue the T. Rex.

I love catching everyone on their phones at the same time.  Unfortunately it makes me be on my phone to take their picture but...my electronics addiction serves a purpose...documentation for our posterity.

This is the Yeti that is the main focus of the Mt. Everest ride.  That night I spent hours reading about Mt. Everest and all of the failed attempts to reach the summit.  Apparently the Yeti is fictional.  Of course, I knew that all along. Only gullible people would have to google such a thing.

The Animal Kingdom parade.  Amazing how they make cool things like this.  I am retarded when it comes to artsy fartsy things.  That is why they impress me so much.  I could never make something look so real.

The Tree of Life had all sorts of animals carved into the trunk.  It was huge.

If you look closely, Troy is the person in the front of the roller coaster.  Zac and Aimee are right behind him.  Troy told me my iphone wouldn't get a good picture because the roller coaster would be going too fast.  It is my destiny to prove him wrong :).  A wonderful end to day 2.
