Aeva is 6!

Aeva had a series of birthday parties...like we all do. Nice to have a lot of people that love you.  If you remember, her first party was at the Olive Garden in Logan.  I should take a second and warn all of you that Olive Garden doesn't sing happy birthday and they don't give you an awesome free dessert for your birthday either.  Not even a bonus mint or two.  How hard is it to sing off key like all the other waitresses and waiters in the world?

Second party was up in Bear Lake with the Hauns.  Grandma Carole made her a cake and the girls decorated it for her.

Aunt Kati gave her this awesome bouncy ball.

Grandma gave her some Polly Pockets.

Aeva loves vanilla ice cream with all of her desserts.

Third party was at Grandpa Ken's house.  Brownies for everyone!

Fourth party was at our house with her friend, Piper.  They were born 5 days apart and LOVE to be together.

I will end with a few things thought from Aeva:

What is your favorite thing to do?  Swim.
What does your mommy do while you are at school?  Stay home.

If you could be any animal, which one would you be and why?  Cheetah - because their fast.
What do you love most about your sisters?  They help me swim.
What was the nicest thing you did for someone? Washed my sisters hair in the lake.

What do you want to do when you grow up?  A teacher or a nurse.
If you had a lot of money, how would you spend it? I'd buy lots and lots and lots and lots of dolls.
What's your favorite thing to do with your family? Have a picnic.
What is your favorite food?  Watermelon and cucumbers.

What is your favorite color?  Pink and Gold.
How much does daddy weigh?  Probably 57 pounds.
What's your favorite holiday?  Christmas.

Happy 6th Birthday, Aeva.  We love you!

Cache Valley Cup Champions 2013

Have you ever had the opportunity to work with an amazing group of kids? I get to do it every week.  I coach an amazing U12 soccer team and the girls are my favorite part.  Take a look at these faces!

And this is the most supportive family you will every meet.  Also happens to be a very cute family.  Aeva celebrated her 6th birthday while we were at a tournament in Logan.  She picker Olive Garden as the location for her birthday dinner.  She didn't meet up with too much resistance...we all like Olive Garden.

The sunset when we arrived back from dinner.  Pretty amazing.

And just in case anyone wanted to know...Maddie's team (also known as my team :) took 1st place!

We got a new team ball for everyone to sign.

And THESE are the girls I was telling you about.  Cute, cute, cute.

One of the other teams in our club also took first place and we gathered everyone for a Union FC championship picture.

Yeah for us!  Go UNION FC!!!

Drum roll please...

Aeva would like everyone to see her new swim suit.

I'm sure it will last a total of two weeks and then be worn out just like all of the other ones.  What's a mom to do?  Anyone makes suits out of chlorine proof material?

Child Labor

My niece, Darby, is getting married. So...it is the family duty to make her a quilt. Any idea how long it has been since we set up a quilt? A loooong time. Guess no one has gotten married for a while.

Good thing my mom has lots of sisters.  Would have taken forever without them.

We even put the kiddos to work.  We would put the needle down through the fabric and they would poke it back up.  They did it for over 3 hours and never got sick of it.  We thought we might be violating a child labor law at some point.  Aeva looks like she isn't too happy about it.

Then again, maybe she doesn't mind.

4th of July 2013

I love the 4th of July! The flags, parades, friends, BBQs, fireworks...all a reminder that we are free! Wish we remembered that a little more often. I am proud to be a part of a nation that fights for their rights and liberties. Wish it wasn't taken for granted so much.

To start off this special day, we hit the breakfast and parade here in Eden.

Bikes.

Scooters.

4 wheelers.

Llamas...yes, llamas.

Kids stopping to pick up the candy that previous children had thrown.

No idea who this is but...way too cute!!!

Creamies to finish it all off.

Then we moved on to the next biggest parade in Huntsville.

This is my favorite part of the parade.  They dress up like the battalion and fire up the guns and cannons.  The man above with the hat over his heart is in charge of making sure everyone is on their feet with their hats off and their eyes on the flag.  He is awesome.

Random dragon this year that I hadn't seen before.

After everyone else goes home, we get out our boat!  My Aunt Holly even took a turn.

Ms. Maddie.

A little swim/tube time after the skiers were done.

Ever try to balance two people on a tube?

Not so easy to do.

But, if you are persistent...

And patient...

(And turn the tube over) - It will happen!

This boat was all ready for the show!

A few of my favorite people.  Love those smiles!
Thanks for a happy 4th, everyone!
