I am a little slow on the Easter blog post. What can I say? We ended up spending Easter Saturday in Mesquite with my grandma. We headed to the park for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. This was the first year that Maddie was too old to participate...pretty sad. I'm proud to say that the younger two were good to share with her when they were done.
We hadn't planned ahead very well. We only had plastic bags to put our stuff in. As we were walking to the hunt, there were people handing out cute baskets with little stuffed animals and treats inside of them. Both Gracie and Aeva got one. Very cool.
And, they're off!
After the hunt, we got a quick picture with Mr. Easter Bunny.
Gracie had a jump rope in her basket.
We got home Saturday night and my sister called to see if we wanted to have an Easter Egg Hunt in the dark. My girls were way too excited about getting to stay up a bit later than usual for the special occasion. This might end up being a new tradition!
Pretty amazing that a flashlight and a few plastic eggs can bring this much happiness!
Before heading to bed, Gracie left this note for the "Ester Bunny." Troy read the note and asked her if she was the Ester Bunny. She then realized that she had signed it wrong and crossed out the Ester Bunny part and wrote her name. Troy continued to tease her and said he would have to ask the Ester Bunny if Gracie was really the Easter Bunny. Pretty soon the note looked like this...
Gracie did not want her dad asking the Ester Bunny ANY questions.
The next morning, they found their baskets. Each of them got a new kite.
And their fair share of treats!
To finish our Easter, we had the annual money hunt at my dad's house. Aeva got a head start as she is the smallest.
The others were not far behind.
Aeva kept saying, "I'm rich!" A few more dollars for the piggy bank.
Happy Easter, everyone!
