A handful of girls in my ward decided to try a little Pamperfest. Also known as a bike relay with fun little pamper sessions between each leg. Each of us rode an average of 40 miles and had lots of treats, massages and lotions rubbed on us in between our rides.
Here we are at the finish line...Kelly, Jenny, myself and my sister, Cammie.

The starting line.

This is me going around the parking lot. YES, the parking lot. Apparently it is what they call a "neutral start." They have the first rider on each relay team take two laps around the parking lot so that everyone can, um...get in position? I simply thought this was a waste of time and energy. What are they trying to do? Wear me down? I only did half of the second lap and decided that was enough for me. Small detour through the parking lot and then off on the race!

This is the end of my second half lap.

The official neutral start (my 3rd time under that little arch). I am ready to be done at this point.

Fixing my helmet as it was threatening to fly off my head. Is that a possible fitting problem? I had to keep my mouth open to hold it on...not the most professional look. Also a high risk maneuver as any number of bugs could fly into my mouth and produce a choking hazard.

My first hand off to Jenny. We didn't catch my almost crash on camera...I was simply celebrating the fact that I had completed my first 23 miles!

Troy met me with my sandals and a much needed Slurpee! He knows me well. I am also holding up my 90% full bottle of water. Apparently that means I didn't drink enough water. (Wanted to make sure I had room for my Slurpee)!

Jenny climbing Trappers Loop. I would have had a heart attack and died if this were my leg. Jenny is my idol. She acted like she was taking a nap...woman of steel!

Kelly's family is our back up support. Always good to have a cheering section.

Poor Kelly. She got clips on her bike the day before the race. Not a good idea when climbing long, steep hills. Gave her some road rash as a souvenir.

The facial...fabulous!

Cammie in the middle of her first leg (after a small detour through a car show). We're not sure how she got lost. Good enough for a laugh from her little sister.

My mock readiness for leg #2. I was really thinking about what I should be eating for lunch.

Me...stalling. Cammie has completed the hand off. I am simply not moving.

Chocolate fountain after my second leg! Sounds yummy...not so much after biking 40 miles. Should have pocketed some for later. I did manage to eat some cinnamon bears. Scrumptious!

I opted for the massage. Good choice. Felt great. This poor guy had a line of sweaty, stinky women all waiting for a massage. Probably not his most memorable day.

I will have to get the picture of us riding in to the finish line. Also a pretend finish as Cammie had already gone through. Apparently we were too lost to get there in time. What kind of a race makes you park a mile away, unload your bikes and then try to make it back in time to catch your rider? Perhaps this is a normal procedure and I do believe we were probably the only team that wasn't there in time. Nevertheless, a definite flaw in the system. We can't possibly take the blame!
